Mooring Equipment
mooring = the ropes or chains as well as tying or anchoring a vessel that keep it from moving away from a particular place
bitt = a set of two posts that are used to secure lines onboard a vessel
fouling = the process of becoming tangled or otherwise in the wrong position
line = a rope that is used onboard a vessel
capstan = a large piece of equipment that a large or heavy rope is wound around
winch = a device that controls the movement of a rope or chain
ground tackle= the set of chains, hooks, and other equipment used for anchoring a vessel
anchor = a heavy, metal device that is dropped to the sea floor in order to hold a vessel in place
