Atmospheric Dynamics | Part 2
The atmosphere is a dynamic system. Temperature changes and the Earth's motion are responsible for horizontal and vertical air displacement. Here the air of the atmosphere circulates between the poles and the Equator in horizontal bands within different latitudes. Moreover, the characteristics of the Earth's surface alter the path of the moving air, causing zones of different air densities. The relations that arise among these processes influence the climatic conditions of our planet.
convergence = when two or more things come together to form a new whole
divergence = when two things split off from each other
hitch a ride = here fly with no difficulties from hitch a lift/ride = to get a free ride in someone else's vehicle as a way of travelling
descend/ascend = go down/rise up
