BUSINESS IDIOMS | Schedules and Planning | Part 2

1️⃣ Back to the Drawing Board : To start over again because the previous attempt failed.

Our plan didn’t work, so it’s back to the drawing board.

2️⃣ After The Fact : After something has happened, especially when it is too late to do anything about it.

We realized that we should have done things differently only after the fact.

3️⃣ Cut It Fine : To leave very little time to do something.

We cut it fine, but we managed to catch the last train.

4️⃣ Take Five (Ten) : To take a short break.

Let’s take five and grab a cup of coffee.

5️⃣ In the Works : In the process of being planned or developed.

We have a new product in the works that we hope will be a success.

6️⃣ You Snooze, You Lose : If you don’t act quickly or take advantage of an opportunity, you will miss out.

You snooze, you lose. We need to act quickly to secure the deal.

7️⃣ Call It a Day : To stop working for the day.

We worked hard all day, but now it’s time to call it a day.

8️⃣ Thank God It’s Friday (TGIF) : An expression of relief that the workweek is over.

TGIF! I’m so glad the workweek is over.
