Chemical Elements | Part 2 | Alkaline Earth Metals
Generally silvery and malleable and good conductors of heat and electricity; they react easily with
nonmetals and water
malleable = (of a metal or other material) able to be hammered or pressed into shape without breaking or cracking
nuclear reactor moderator = a material, such as ordinary water, heavy water, or graphite, that is used in a reactor to slow down high-velocity neutrons, thus increasing the likelihood of fission (=a reaction in which the nucleus of an atom splits into two or more smaller nuclei)
plaster = a soft mixture of sand and cement and sometimes lime with water, for spreading on walls, ceilings, or other structures, to form a smooth hard surface when dried
lubricant = a substance which is put on the mechanical surfaces to make the parts move smoothly
ore = rock from which metal can be obtained (see also (https://t.me/espedition/51))
