When to Use Each Shutter Speed
In photography, shutter speed is one of the most important factors to consider before pressing the shutter. It can affect your image in many ways, from how sharp it looks to how much motion blur there is. There are a few guidelines in the photography cheat sheet above. They’ll help you decide which shutter speed is appropriate for each situation.
Shutter Speed = the speed at which the shutter of the camera closes. A fast shutter speed creates a shorter exposure — the amount of light the camera takes in — and a slow shutter speed gives the photographer a longer exposure. shutter = a device that opens and closes to expose(=make it affected by light) the film in a camera motion blur = the apparent streaking(=long, thin lines of a different colour) of moving objects in a photograph See also EXPOSURE TRIANGLE
