Four types of metals

1⃣ Ferrous metals. These metals contain iron. Common ferrous metals include alloy steel, carbon steel, cast iron, and wrought iron. These metals are very valuable due to their tensile strength and durability. ⚙

2⃣ Base metals. Lead and copper are base metals. They are easily oxidized or corroded, such as readily reacting with dilute hydrochloric acid (HCl) to form metal chlorides and hydrogen.🫧 3⃣ Precious metals are not very common. Precious metals are typically very valuable. They are less reactive than most elements, have high luster (= the shining quality of a surface) and high electrical conductivity. Silver, gold and platinum are precious metals. 💲 4⃣ Radioactive metals can be dangerous. For this reason, miners should handle radioactive metals like uranium carefully. ☢
