Soil
aeration = the process of making it possible for air to become mixed with soil, water, etc. silt = sand, mud, etc. that is carried by flowing water and is left at the mouth of a river
soil structure = the way individual particles of sand, silt, and clay are assembled
soil texture = (such as loam, sandy loam or clay) refers to the proportion of sand, silt and clay sized particles that make up the mineral fraction of the soil
dense = heavy in relation to its size
parent material = the disintegrated rock material usually unconsolidated and unchanged or only slightly changed that underlies and generally gives rise to the true soil by the natural process of soil development
nutrient = a substance that is needed to keep a living thing alive and to help it to grow
plant nutrients: the three main nutrients are nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K). Together they make up the trio known as NPK. Other important nutrients are calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg) and sulfur (S).
