Gearing Systems
Mechanisms consisting of toothed parts that mesh to transmit the rotational motion of the shafts they are a part of.
rack = a piece of equipment, usually made of metal or wooden bars, that is used for holding things or for hanging things on
pinion = hold
vice versa = sed to say that the opposite of what you have just said is also true
steering = the equipment in a vehicle that you use to control the direction it goes in
mesh = to fit together or match closely, especially in a way that works well; to make things fit together successfully
spur = to make something happen faster or sooner
shaft = a metal bar that joins parts of a machine or an engine together, enabling power and movement to be passed from one part to another
protrusion = a thing that sticks out from a place or surface
axle = a long straight piece of metal that connects a pair of wheels on a vehicle
car jack = (don't confuse with carjack) a device for lifting (jacking up) cars and other heavy objects
